How is WebPosition Going to Get Everyone in the Top 10?
Recently I had someone send me this question that I?m sure many of you have asked yourself:
"How is WebPosition going to get all of the potential users of your product in the top 10? It would seem that as more and more Webmasters employ your methods we are leveling the playing field and will have to begin all over."
This is an excellent question and one that we?ve been asked again and again. Simply, it?s a matter of competition and this is the way that ALL business works. But that aside, consider this:
The most crucial thing to remember is that there are at least 300,000 words in the English language alone. When you start to count the possible two, three and four word combination phrases as well as the many upper/lower case variations, you discover that there are perhaps billions of possible search queries available to target for a top ranking. Obviously not all these combinations are searched, but we do know that millions of searches are conducted daily. Many of these terms bring thousands of visitors each week to sites in the top 30 matches.
Only the most savvy business people recognize the value in using a product like WebPosition and learning the secrets to improving their search engine positions. This "elite" group sees the hidden value of top rankings and gains a competitive ADVANTAGE. They go to the "top of the charts" by leveraging the best technology. That's the way competition works everywhere, not just on the search engines.
The rest of the Web marketing followers often throw their money into ineffective banner ads or other expensive advertising. Sadly, many more do nothing at all to advertise. They eventually go out of business because no one visits their Web site.
The beauty of search positions come from the fact that they are both targeted and FREE. Achieving top rankings in major search engines costs you nothing but a little time.
The greatest travesty we find is that so many Web site marketers are targeting such a narrow group of keywords for their topic that they miss many opportunities.
REAL WORLD EXAMPLE: When a Web site selling a special weight loss program told me recently that they were fighting for a top ranking on the keyword "diet" I had to ask them "why?" Single keywords are usually such a waste of energy for search engine positioning. Research shows that the majority of people using search engines query two and three word combinations. More importantly, single keywords do not usually target your audience well. Is someone searching for the keyword "diet" looking to lose weight? Not necessarily. They might be looking for nutritional information, or some specialized information on diabetes related dietary needs, or a thousand other possible subjects.
More importantly, when the search engines return three million matches to their query most of limited relevance, that person will likely refine their search by adding a couple more words.
Usually, most search engine users query a *keyword phrase* to find specific information. And, as we?ve already explained, when you count the many keyword combinations that could be relevant to your Web site?s topic, you?ll more than likely find several where you can own the "top of the charts."
Remember there are 14+ million sites covering literally thousands of different product categories. There are millions of searches being conducted daily.
Therefore, there are literally millions of "Top 10" positions to fill. So with the right tool, it's not hopeless at all! You just need to find your "niche" keywords or phrases, and target that "niche" in your market to improve your odds of success. This is basic "Marketing 101."
It's likely that most of your competition is doing nothing to monitor their positions. They?re at a great disadvantage to those of us armed with WebPosition, which lets us do more in less time. Many people give up on the concept of positioning once they realize how long it takes to check their positions by hand. Their mistake was they never continue forward and looked for a solution to that problem!
We get feedback every week from customers telling us how they tracked and then improved just a handful of keywords and are now seeing their site traffic double, triple, or more.
Yet, we are still amazed by how many people who don't understand the way competition works and that the way you win is by working smarter, not harder.
Here?s a letter that was sent to me last month that proves even the "small guy" can win in a tough market by using the proper tools and having a little motivation:
"It's about time I thanked you for such a fine product as WebPosition and for your great MarketPosition Newsletter. We introduced our rather haphazard real estate Web site about 8 months ago in an extremely competitive arena of real estate Web sites. Remember, the Albuquerque, NM area is a hotbed of high technology which attracts a very computer savvy population. We are the home of Intel and Sandia National Laboratories.
By applying your tips and using WebPosition to monitor the effectiveness of our keywords, our simple home grown Web site now ranks in the top 30 (and in many cases in the top 10) for all our most important keywords. The volume of serious e-mail inquiries from our site continues to grow each month. We are able to compete on an extremely modest budget against real estate sites created by professional (meaning prohibitively expensive) Web site studios.
Thanks again for giving us this "secret weapon" and thanks for your quick responses to my help requests over the past few months."
Sincerely,
Charles Frady, REALTOR
