Ask.com Embraces Blogs with New Features

RSS Smart Answers was introduced on Ask's Official Blog in July. As some of you may have noticed from searching on Ask.com, the RSS Smart Answers feature provides the three most recent blog entries at the top of the search results for searches on the blog's name. This is one of several blog friendly features the Ask search engine offers. In this post, I'll provide a brief review of Ask's blog related features, including RSS Smart Answers, the Ask Blogs & Feeds Search, and Bloglines.

Ask.com Retires Jeeves and Teoma

Ask.com has recently officially ended the reign of Jeeves, the butler who was the mascot logo on their search engine in the past. In addition, the Teoma.com brand owned by Ask.com is no longer with us as a search engine.

Jeeves, the English butler mascot for the Ask Jeeves search engine has been very busy this month serving up a whole host of new features. The company appears to be serious about competing with industry giants Google, Yahoo, and MSN. In fact, you'll notice that Ask Jeeves' home page is very basic, much like Google's "search-centric" approach.
